Ah the memories!

On November 20, 2018 Halestorm, In This Moment, and New Years Day rocked the Old National Events Plaza during a 103GBF Damn Loud Rock Show! It was my first rock show I got to attend back on GBF, and I have to say it was a good one!

Watching the show, as a woman who is a lover of rock it was cool to see a rock show where they were all female fronted bands.  I have to admit, I'm a bit sad I missed most of New Years Day's set as I was back helping get GBF meet and greet winners to their locations.  I did luckily get to see all of In This Moment and Halestorm's sets however!

It was really cool to me to watch both bands absolutely nail their performances, while being totally opposite, and I don't mean that in a bad way. In This Moment was theatrical, they put on almost two shows, one with the music, and one with the over the top theatrical performance.  And it works together so well, it just melded into one amazing show!

Then there was Halestorm. I think what I love about Halestorm is they also know how to put on a show, but in a different way.  In This Moment has the theatrics, Halestorm gets on stage and just rocks.  They have a way of putting on an incredible show and keeping you entertained without the added theatrics.  Plus Lzzy Hale will forever be one of my favorite front-ladies her voice is amazing, and she sounds just as good live as she does on recordings.  Halestorm reminds me of everything we love about a good old rock show, but with a few added tricks up their sleeves.

I don't mean this to say one band is better than the other, or one way is right and the other isn't. I appreciate both bands for what they bring to the stage, both are phenomenal live. It was just cool to see the difference in one show.  Both are phenomenal in their own way.

Here's to 2020 and here's to many more GBF Damn Loud Rock Shows where that came from!

And because I have it, here's a photo of Kat and I with Halestorm!
