Okay, so it's actually 5:30...sue me. I've made no secret about my love for 90's music, rock or otherwise. What can I say, that was a huge decade for me. I graduated high school in '93 and spent the rest of the decade (almost) in college. I started here at GBF in '96 and met my future wife in '98.

And in addition to all of those life-forming and life-changing experiences, the 90's just had a whole bunch of great music. During the first part of the decade, I was really into R&B and hip-hop and groups like Boyz II Men, Jodeci and Outkast (you will NOT find any of them in this video). Once I got into the radio biz, I got my first taste of the great rock from the 90's, and I had some catching up to do with bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against The Machine, and so much more.

My first thought, when I saw the title of this video, was that all of these 50 songs would be "rock" songs...and that's not necessarily the case. They are just 50 great guitar riffs...not 50 rock riffs. Something interesting I noticed...there are NO riffs/songs later than 1995. Does that mean there were no great riffs after '95? What about "Bulls On Parade" from '96...and nothing from the Foo Fighters on the list? Really?

I know you'll think of some songs that should have been included. So watch the video and then let me know what songs were left off.
