Scientists Say Having Sex Can Make You Smarter

If you want to be smarter, shut the books and drop your drawers, as a new study indicates that having sex may actually make you smarter.

Researchers from the University of Maryland say they have discovered that laboratory rats show significant signs of developing new brain cells after they finish mating – providing evidence that more brainpower is available to the sexual active.

Experts say that sex appears to reduce stress levels in the brain, which allows for greater cell production. However, if you are already smart, the same experts say that does not necessarily mean you are slinging more ding-dong than anyone else.

On the flip side, a person that is not having as much sex is not necessarily an idiot either. Psychologist Tracey Shors says there are more ways other than sex to stimulate brain cell growth... “You can make new cells with exercise, Prozac and sex. If you do mental training, you’ll keep alive more of the cells you produced. And if you do both, now you have the best of both worlds – you’re making more cells and keeping more alive.”
