Christmas day afternoon...what to do, what to do?  Ah, a movie!!  I remembered seeing trailers for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" on TV.  It looked like a cool thriller, and it's directed by David Fincher, who helmed a few of my favorites like "Fight Club" and "Se7en".    Much like those,  "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" is full of twists and turns that are very compelling and suck yuouo into the story line.   The movie was based on a novel by swedish writer Stieg Larsson, and the first movie adaptration of the book came out in 2009 in Sweden.  While I have many friends who have both read the book and seen the Swedish version, I have not, but I hope to.

"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" 2011 stars Daniel Craig as a discredited writer and Rooney Mara as a surveillence agent who assists him in solving a case of murders that strech back over 40 yeaars.  The movie has a couple of sexually graphic scenes that will be very hard for some people to take.   The whole is greaters than the sum of it's parts in this case.  The movies is almost 3 hours long, but you will find it difficult to tear away and go use the restroom or get some popcorn.  Take care of that stuff first, the get comfy in your seat and let "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" draw you in.    Note: The movie has an anding that will make you play out several scenarious in your mind.  I thought about it off and on the whole next day.  I highly recommend this film for those who love an edgy, dramatic thriller and can handle some graphic moments that are intergral to the story.    However if you like ligh-hearted movies with a laugh or two, this one is not for you.  This movie is purely heavy metal, not pop!    A+ from me!   If you've seen it, share your comments please.
