Before Chris Redfield started punching boulders and Jill wore that blue halter top, they were S.T.A.R.S. Get reintroduced to them both in this new trailer for the remake (of the remake), of Resident Evil.

It's time to return to the Spencer Mansion in this gore-filled and atmospheric remake of the original Resident Evil title. Originally released on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002, Capcom is optimizing its original zombie adventure for current-gen consoles. While some of the B-movie dialogue is gone, such as a Barry's "Jill sandwich" and "the master of unlocking" lines, there are still plenty of the original's cliche zombie events to stay true to the survival horror experience. We'd sell our souls to Wesker if we could just get a remake like this for Resident Evil 2.

Luckily, this Resident Evil remake also features tons of revamped, creepy incidents that make it stray far from its source material in fantastic ways, such as Lisa Trevor. We also get a quick look at the returning "Crimson Head" zombies, which we're sure will terrify us yet again. Resident Evil will launch sometime in 2015 as a downloadable title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

You better hope that the remake of the remake of Resident Evil is creepy. If not, there's always this video of the good old days:
