Days Of The New founder and frontman, Travis Meeks, once had it all.  Huge record sales for the band's debut album, lots of cash, and a developing addicition to meth and alleged other illegal drugs. Travis had fired the other guys in Day Of The New after the highly successful debut album, and those members went on to found Tantric with Hugo Ferreria.  Meeks assembled more members for a second album, fired those guys, hired more, and released a third album.  By then the band's record sales were in the tank and Travis was deep into addiction, sometimes not even showing up for concerts.  He was featured on an edition of the TV show, Intervention, which spotlighted just how far he'd fallen.  They were once so successful, I have a platinum album award for "Touch, Peel and Stand" on my office wall!

In September, he talked the original members of the band intro going out on tour that also resulted in disaster during a show in St.Louis where Meeks seemed to be completely out of it onstage.  So much so, the rest of the band walked off and Meeks left the stage and wandered around the crowd.  Here's a fan shot video of some of his ramblings that night.

After that show Travis Meeks got fresh musicians, hit the road again and when Days Of The New showed up for an Oct. 10th in Portland, Maine he was arrested by local police on a warrant issued out of Gibson County, Indiana for failure to appear on a charge of carrying a hypodermic needle.  Who knew Travis Meeks was busted in Gibson County, just right up the road from Evansville??  Well, the Gibson County cops did apparently, cuz they busted Travis.  Stay tuned for further updates on this once famous, now fallen star Travis Meeks.
