The Deaconess Sports Park has been presented three awards in the last month - two from softball associations and one from a recognized sports publication.

Tim Fulton, director of sports facilities at Deaconess Sports Park, received the ASA Award of Excellence from the ASA National Council Meeting held in Shreveport, La. ASA (now known as USA Softball) held several tournaments at Deaconess Sports Park during the 2016 season. They also announced at the meeting that they had awarded the 2018 USA Men’s Slow Pitch D Northern Territory Tournament to Evansville’s Deaconess Sports Park.  It will be played September 1-4, 2018.

The National Softball Association (NSA) and Baseball Players Association (BPA) recognized Deaconess Sports Park with an award for 2016 Outstanding Park. NSA was the host organization for the National Softball Association Girls Fast Pitch “B” World Series held in Evansville and Owensboro last July. This tournament was a joint venture between the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau and Evansville Sports Corporation. It brought in over 220 teams from thirteen states making it the largest sporting event ever held in this region. The Girls World Series was also recognized by Sports Destination Management publications who selected the tournament and Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau as one of their 2016 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism recipients.

The Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau invested $16.5M to build Deaconess Sports Park which it continues to market, manage, and maintain. It is regarded by sports organizations as one of the premier facilities in the region.
