I'm an on-air personality on The River City Rocker, 103GBF...been that way for the past 14 years.

Aside from loving the music we play, I also thoroughly enjoy sports...Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and UK.

General: Hanging out at the house. Watching the aforementioned sports....drinking beer.  Real high brow stuff.

Music: I'm pretty much across the board. I can appreciate all genres of music.  Short list of favorite groups: Green Day, Weezer, Rancid, System of a Down, A Tribe Called Quest, The Cure, Less Than Jake, Beastie Boys and N.W.A (I'm hard).

Movies: Favorites include the original Star Wars trilogy, Swingers, Old School, Office Space, Kingpin, Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy. Real high-brow shit.

Television: Law and Order (SVU mainly), House and sports. Anything else I might casually glance at.

Its been real...

Back in the mid to late 80s, I would sit and listen to the radio for hours upon end.  I was listening for certain songs that I had neither the money to buy the cassette of or any other way to obtain it.  Yes kids, there was a time before "on demand" this and "instant" that.  Somewhere in my parent's attic, you'll find mountains of audio cassette tapes of songs that were recorded off the radio with the DJ talking over the start of each song.  As time went by, I began to become more fascinated with that voice than I did with whatever song he/she was introducing.  "Who is that"? "I wonder what they look like?" "Sounds like they are having fun" and I ultimately came to the conclusion...

I want to do that.

The Retirement of Slick

August of 1996…a skinny, naive and long haired kid from two hours East walked into a somewhat ram shackled but charming house on the campus of the University of Southern Indiana. This was the home of the campus radio station, AM 820. “Hello…my name is Nick and I am enrolled in the Radio Practicum for the Fall semester”.

Cubs Win the World Series in the ‘MLB 12 The Show’ Commercial

It might be a little below the belt for the two resident Cubs fans on staff but it is a good advertisement nonetheless.  MLB 12 The Show came out for the PS3 as of yesterday (March 6th).

And yes...even the Cubs can win the Series in this realm of reality.  Much like my Cincinnati Bengals can win the Super Bowl when I play Madden.

New Red Band Trailer for ‘That’s My Boy’

That's My Boy is the new Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg flick in which the former and latter play father and son.  Looks predictable but I'm still a sucker for almost any Sandler film (save 'Jack and Jill') so I will see this one eventually.

Plenty of raunch so don't even think about viewing this at work.

It’s Championship Week [College Basketball]

One of the best weeks of the year.  Championship week.  The week where teams enter tournament play with the ultimate prize for winning is becoming an automatic entrant into the field of 68.  It has already started but the big conferences get after it starting today.

For some it's a formality (*cough* My Kentucky Wildcats *cough*) but there are always Cinderella runs that make for compelling television.  Enjoy the video of last year's dramatic finishes to prime you for the 2012 version.

Jack White Was the Musical Guest on ‘SNL’

Saturday Night Live was hosted this past week by Lindsay Lohan who, by all accounts, was dreadful.

The show's saving grace came in the form of Jack White of the White Stripes.  He took the stage and was all eclectic and stuff.  He performed two songs(“Love Interruption” and “Sixteen Saltines"), both of which you can watch after the jump.

Kate Upton Eating a Cheeseburger

What else do you need out of a headline? Hardees (also known as Carl's Jr. west of the Mississippi) have yet another brilliant marketing campaign.

Have a beautiful woman sensually eat red meat in a car.  Take out the beautiful woman part and replace it with pasty white guy and you' d have my Tuesday afternoon ritual.  I totally eat it that way too...don't judge.

New ‘American Reunion’ Trailer

Stop me if you've read this before but it's yet another new trailer for the (presumably) final chapter in the American Pie series, American Reunion. This one gives a little more detail into the plot and what has become of some of our favorite characters since 2003's  American Wedding.

Most Awesome Winter Wipeouts [Video]

We haven't had much of a winter around these parts (knock on wood) to which I am not sad about one bit. Without all that ice and snow, we also haven't had much of a chance to fall down, sled and otherwise injury ourselves in spectacular fashion.  Bummer.

With that in mind, here are some folks that have experienced the grip of old man Winter this season. Additionally, they have responded by falling, doing things that are foolish, etc. which in turn entertains us from the comfort of our 50 degree winter in the Tri-state.

Every Face Punch From the Movie ‘Roadhouse’

Oh internet...don't ever change.

Somebody decided to put together the ultimate supercut and it involves a whole lot of face trauma. Roadhouse was a flick that came out in 1989 starring the late Patrick Swayze. Some bad guys do things and then faces get punched. If you have never seen the flick (it is almost always airing on some obscure channel on any given weekend) or just want a Cliff Note's version, this montage will do.
