Though never released as a single, "Metalingus" has long been a fan favorite for Alter Bridge fans, and with the group's Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities set about to be released soon, the band is offering up a live version of the song to whet the appetite of their fans.

As you can hear in the song, Alter Bridge open the track with a showcase for drummer Scott Phillips, then adding in Brian Marshall's killer bass and giving fans the show the low end base of the song before Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy add to the depth of the performance with some high energy guitar artwork.

"Metalingus" was initially featured on the band's debut disc, One Day Remains, back in 2004. It's become a live favorite, with the O2 Arena crowd letting the band hear it after the song was played.

In addition to one of the band's landmark shows of their career, this new collection is filled with rarities from throughout the group's tenure. Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities will be released by Napalm Records on Sept. 8, and for those who pre-order the set, the live version of "Metalingus" will be an instant grat track. Head here to pre-order. There are also physical version pre-order options here.

Alter Bridge will return to the road in mid-September, heading to South America for a run of shows. Then, in October, they'll kick off a European tour. See all of their scheduled shows here.
