Recently, I was contacted by a Facebook friend named Janet.

She has a son who is ill and wanted to know if we could spread the word about a fundraiser she has organized to help cover the families huge expenses. Here's Janet's story about her son Drew...in her own words.

"Hello!!  I'm hosting a 5K for my son, Drew who has TAR Syndrome (mild blood disorder, shortened arms, congenital heart defects and leg abnormalities that prevent him from standing or walking - it's an extremely rare syndrome, only a few thousand in the world). Drew has been undergoing corrective surgery in West Palm Beach Florida since May 2012 (totaling so far, 5 surgeries with one more expected in early June) which requires us to move to Florida for months at a time incurring medical, travel and living expenses (because we still maintain our residence here in Union County). We have been fundraising for a year through what we call Drew Walking Tall. On Sunday, May 19th at the Sturgis Airport, we will be hosting a 5K to raise more funds to continue Drew's physical therapy so he may one day walk. I was hoping you could help by help spreading the word. First, here is a blog I've kept on Drew for two years documenting our adventures: www.drewunarmed.com.

I also have a facebook page for Drew Walking Tall:

Finally, a direct link to a page on my blog with more specific information about the 5K:

I don't know what you prefer to share or if you do at all, but if you do, I'd really appreciate it!"

We appreciate you coming to us Janet! The word is out...hopefully you, the person reading this can join in by posting this link on your Facebook page!
