Boy, the toughest part of writing this is trying to KEEP IT SHORT!! That also echoes the advice of every “consultant” I’ve ever worked with in radio. I never listened. And now look at me! King of the world in Ft. Wayne!! I’m beginning my 9th year here, after a brief stint in North Carolina. I tell you this only because I still can’t believe I’ve worked anywhere longer than I did at 103GBF. When I lost my country radio gig (lasted exactly four months) I called up then-River City Rocker-Boss Tony Couch, and he threw my lame ass on the air in a part-time weekend job. Six years later I was running the show, guided by the legendary Mike “Sandman” Sanders. The dude taught me everything I know about managing a radio station. He’s still the best. In my six-plus years there at the Tri-State’s best radio station (always has been, always will be. Fact.) I worked with a lot of amazing people. Many of them have gone on to different radio jobs in other cities, and many have gotten out of the “business” all together. But there are a few…a few brave souls carrying the torch of rock high and proud. They still shake the pillars of heaven and surprise everyone who’s never had the pleasure (the HONOR really) to walk the halls of that amazing place with awe-inspiring promotions, contests, and concerts that simply wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for that tiny little transmitter with the big, fat, ballsy roar. Cheers, 103GBF. Long may you rock!!

Thank you Turner!!!   Now some old, embarassing photos of you!!  lol
