Why Savannah, GA Is a Great Place to Vacation
Most people tend to go to Florida, or the east coast for a summer vacation. But here's why you should give Savannah, GA a try.
This weekend, my friends and I tried to take a road trip to North Carolina, which didn't work out because I got really bad altitude sickness in Tennessee. So we had to change our road trip plans and headed down to Savannah, Ga. Which ended up being a great idea.
Savannah isn't just a place you drive past to get to Jacksonville.
Here's why you should consider Savannah, Ga as your next vacation spot:
Spanish moss trees are beautiful.
Historic buildings.
Said historic buildings are most likely super haunted. So there are lots of ghost tours to go on. (Savannah boasts that it is one of the most haunted cities in the United States. Take a ghost tour and find out why!) Also, Savannah is home to the Marshal House and the Sorrel-Weed House, which is reportedly one of the most haunted buildings in the U.S.
Gorgeous architecture.
Southern hospitality.
Everything is a photo opportunity.
Their antique stores are AMAZING.
Cemeteries. I know, that sounds like a weird thing to put on this list. But these cemeteries are historic, and beautiful, and they actually offer tours in some of them. (Also, most of them are also haunted...)
Georgia cane syrup.
The beach is just a short drive away.
Some of Forrest Gump was filmed there. (But the infamous bench is in a museum because people kept trying to steal it...)
The first Girl Scout Headquarters is there.
See? There is so much to do in Savannah! So next time you're planning a trip, keep Savannah in mind!
