With the recent announcement of the Lynyrd Skynyrd coming to the Ford Center for their 40th anniversary tour August 1st 2013, I got to thinking what is my favorite all time Lynyrd Skynyrd song.

I grew up to my parents listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd, of course I was subjected to what they wanted to listen too. I am well rounded when it comes to music because of them. I am very thankful I was always surrounded by good music. Turns out my dad was a DJ for parties when he was in his younger days.

My favorite all time Lynyrd Skynyrd song is "Gimme Three Steps." Why you may ask??? Well here is the story, some of you may remember the J&R that used to sit on the corner of Franklin and St. Joe. That was my parents hang out when I was younger. They had a family room with one of those OLLLLDDDD jukeboxes, they are very rare nowadays, with the album cover and you flip through the list of songs on the album covers. Now, everything is digital and played on the internet rather than discs. I actually came across one of those old jukeboxes in a hole in the wall once with a friend and they had no clue how to use it. It made me laugh, off subject I know.

Anyway, they had "Gimme Three Steps" on that jukebox at the J&R I was very young and everyone knew who I was because we always went there to have supper and I would always play on the dance floor and listen to music. First song I would play was "Gimme Three Steps." My mom would come up on the dance floor and we would two step. Seems like one song can bring back 1000 memories. This is one of those songs.
