After listing his home in late January, Weezer bassist Scott Shriner has already sold it— for $250,000 more than the asking price. The house he shared with his wife, writer Jill Lauren, went for $2.4 million.

Perhaps it's not such a surprise - after all, the original listing notes that "this home will wow your sense," whatever that means. Shriner purchased the 2,233-square-foot two-story modern treehouse in 2014 for $1.7 million, after it had sold the year prior for just $760,000.

The three-bed, three-bath Silver Lake home features lush landscaping and picture windows with offer views of downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. An open floor plan, hardwood floors, a free-standing fireplace and marble countertops are among its best features, along with a master suite on each floor, with sliding glass doors that open to views of a grassy backyard. The property also boasts a patio, a detached garage and a flagstone-paved stairway, all of which sits behind a fence that provides privacy.

Weezer will release their latest record, The Black Albumon May 25. It was intended to follow 2016's White Album but instead comes after last year's Pacific Daydream

“This other album kind of materialized,” frontman Rivers Cuomo explained at the time. “I had two folders on my Dropbox: one was The Black Album, and it didn’t get filled as quickly as the other folder, which I temporarily titled New Folder. That one filled up with 10 songs that were definitely different, but not quite as different as The Black Album. So we put a name on it – Pacific Daydream – and put that one out first.”
