Since I heard about the passing of Chester Bennington I've just been perusing the internet listening to Linkin Park songs. As one does when in mourning for a rocker. And then a video came up that just about made me start to cry...

Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington were very good friends. Cornell's death affected Chester greatly and, whether it was an ironic twist of fate or intentional, Chester committed suicide by hanging (the same as Chris) on what would have been Chris' 53rd birthday, yesterday (July 20th).

The two were rock brothers and it showed on and off stage. Which is where these videos come in. The first is from a Linkin Park concert in 2008, which has a surprise appearance by Chris Cornell singing "Crawling" with Linkin Park.

"He's got the f******* most beautiful voice in rock and roll, man."

A SECOND video popped up after I watched that one (because apparently I still had tears to shed) of a Chris Cornell concert in 2009 (Not sure if it was for Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, Soundgarden, or just a solo concert) in which Chester was the special guest and did some KILLER vocals for "Hunger Strike".

I will never be able to listen to "Hunger Strike" the same way again.

RIP to both of these amazing guys. The rock world is just so much more emptier without them.
