Feb. 25, 2017, marks the 25th anniversary of Pantera's landmark album, Vulgar Display of Power. In conjunction with the anniversary, our new series Loudwire Legacy documents the making of the album, its impact on metal and the secret story behind the album cover in a three-part video series.

We had the pleasure of filming all three surviving members of Pantera for this series, along with metal luminaries such as Mike Portnoy, David Ellefson, Dave Mustaine, Zakk Wylde and dozens of other artists. Moreover, we were able to sit down with the album's producer, Terry Date, and even tracked down photographer Brad Guice, who told us the real story behind the album's iconic cover artwork.

Check back on Saturday, Feb. 25, to catch the three-part Loudwire Legacy series on Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power for the true story behind one of metal's most important albums. In the meantime, watch the trailer above.
