Hidden River Cave

Hidden River Cave is located in Horse Cave, Kentucky.  It isn't too far from Mammoth Cave and is located outside of Bowling Green. It's about a 2.5-hour drive from Evansville, so not too far at all! The reason for the name Hidden River Cave?  Because inside the cave there are two rivers that run below the ground.  Wild right?  You can see these two rivers and a whole lot more at Hidden River Cave.

Here's what their website has to say about the cave:

Our historic cave tour will take you through one of Kentucky’s largest and most scenic cave entrances where two subterranean rivers flow over one-hundred feet below ground. Walk across the world’s longest underground swinging bridge and step up into Sunset Dome, one of the largest free-standing cave domes in the United States.

Stunning Views

I had never heard of Hidden River Cave until I recently saw a post about it in a group on Facebook called Kentucky Waterfalls, Arches, and Landscapes.  This group is phenomenal because it highlights some of Kentucky's stunning scenery that often gets overlooked.  Larry Byrd recently shared photos from his trip to Hidden River Cave in the group and I had to ask him if I could share them here. I mean look at this entrance! It looks like a view from across the world, and not here in the midwest.
