Throwback Thursday: NIN ‘The Fragile’ Turns 18 Today
Nine Inch Nails received their first Billboard #1 with their third studio album "The Fragile", which was released on this day in 1999.
While the album only stayed in the #1 spot for it's debut week (it slipped to #16 the following week), it went double platinum months later on Jan. 4th, 2000.
A remixed version of "The Fragile"'s first single "The Day the World Went Away" was used in 2009's Terminator: Salvation.
NIN released an instrumental version of The Fragile, called "The Fragile: Deviations 1" on vinyl earlier this year and includes alternate versions of many of the songs. This was a limited edition item and sold out quickly on NIN website. You can still buy the special edition vinyl on some online sites, but it's gonna cost ya a pretty penny.
