One of the most delightful bits in Thor: Ragnarok – and there are many – is Taika Waititi’s Korg, the Kronan rock-like creature the God of Thunder meets in the Grandmaster’s fighting pits. What’s more lovable than a giant bundle of rocks with a sweet and gentle voice like Waititi’s? Not much. But Korg wasn’t the only character the Kiwi filmmaker played in the Marvel movie.

In a new interview with Empire, Waititi told the magazine he played a grand total of three characters in Ragnarok, but you wouldn’t have known it. Waititi used his voice for Korg, but did motion-capture work for the two other characters. One was the head of an alien, another was the big bad Surtur:

I am one of the heads on the three-headed alien, this character called Haju [this may not be correct spelling] I’m the head on the right. And I’m also the motion-capture for Surtur.

Though Clancy Brown provided the voice for the fire demon, it’s Waititi who – spoiler alert – you’ll see smashing Asgard to bits at the end of the film. As if all of that wasn’t enough to keep Waititi busy on set, he previously told Collider he was also a stand-in for The Hulk in pick-up shots after Mark Ruffalo wrapped. So how long until we get a Marvel movie with characters played by only Waititi? Would watch, 100 percent.

The Empire interview is full of fun details – like the fact that Chris Hemsworth came up with the “Get help” gag – but most exciting is new intel on a deleted scene. The director said he filmed an Avengers callback with The Hulk and Loki:

They all land on the bridge – Thor, Loki and then Hulk. They stand for a second. Then Hulk just smashes Loki, punches him out of the frame – just like in Avengers, when Hulk did it to Thor. It was a crowd favorite, but we just had to get rid of it for time. It might be on the DVD.

If there’s any DVD release we can’t wait to get our hands on (fingers crossed it included that alternate post-credits scene), it’s definitely this one.
