The Witches are Back! Hocus Pocus 2 Officially Has a Release Date

It's official the witches are back! There have been rumors swirling about the possibility of a Hocus Pocus sequel, and many have been wondering, if it happens will the witches be back? While we don't know about the other original characters like Max, Dani, Allison, and Binx, we do know for sure the Sanderson sisters will be back.

On May 20th the three actresses who portrayed the Sanderson sisters in the original Hocus Pocus movie confirmed on Instagram they'll be back AND they gave us a peek at the release date. It looks like we can expect to see the sequel in October of 2022. While that's a bit far away, at least we know for sure it's happening and the witches are back!

Bette Midler who portrayed Winifred Sanderson posted the following to her Instagram:

Sistaaaahs! It's been 300 years... But we’re BACK! #HocusPocus2 arrives Fall 2022 on @DisneyPlus.

Sarah Jessica Parker who portrayed Sarah Sanderson posted the following caption to her Instagram photo announcing the sequel:

Yep.
I'm ready.
To run.
Amok, amok, amok, amok.️

And Kathy Najimy who portrayed Mary Sanderson said the following:

I love how each actress stayed true to their character in the captions, it was a fun throwback. The original Hocus Pocus came out in 1993, and originally was a bit of a flop at the box office. But when it began airing each October on the Disney Channel it became a bit of a cult classic. I grew up in the 90s, and Hocus Pocus is one of those movies that just brings me joy. It's become one of my favorite movies, but I think part of that is the nostalgia it brings me. I cannot wait to see what they do to continue the storyline for Hocus Pocus 2!
