The Lead Singer Of Rise Against IS NOT Becoming A Woman

It seems a terrible mix up on Twitter is causing some users to believe that Tim McIlrath, lead singer of Rise Against, is planning to become a woman. 

So just for the record, McIlrath is NOT becoming a woman. Tom Gabel, lead singer of Against Me!, announced in Rolling Stone that he is transgendered and will be transitioning to be a woman.

It seems that the bands of which each of them are members of have similar sounding names. When I heard the news this morning (on Facebook, of course) it was being reported that McIlrath was on his way to have his 'outie' become a 'innie'.

Tom Gabel made his announcement during an interview which will appear in the next issue of Rolling Stone.

This isn't the first time that the two bands have been confused, but hopefully the gender switch will help with that confusion.
