For all the popularity Deadpool has enjoyed over the years, it's quite possible that his star has never shined brighter than in 2016. The dude is in about a dozen comics a month, he had a smash hit film (finally) that's earned the right to move into sequel talks, and he's still on more merchandise than just about any X-person without the words Wolv and Erine in their names. That includes action figures, of which Wade Wilson has has plenty. But there are more on the way, including his first from NECA Toys. NECA's made a smidgen of Marvel figures before, all in quarter-scale size as the license permits, but they've all been tied to the movie versions of the Avengers. Deadpool will be the company's first Marvel figure based on his comic interpretation, and actually NECA's first comic book-based figure from either the Marvel or DC lines. Anyone that's been collecting NECA's 1/4 scale figures knows the kind of detail they bring to the table, but if this is a glimpse of the potential to come from other comic-based figures, the competition just got real quiet.

A few weeks ago Ryan Reynolds announced via twitter that Deadpool was "coming early". The Deadpool DVD is still set to be released in stores on May 10th, but the digital release was available online on April 26th. And with it came SOME of the epic special features that we've been waiting for, like the gag reel. I say SOME because they made it clear that the actual DVD is going to have SO

In the Deadpool post-credits scene, Wade Wilson came out, Ferris Bueller-style, and told the audience that they’re going to have X-Force leader Cable in the sequel. That was enough to lead many to think that Deadpool 2 would start setting up the eventual X-Force movie, and this latest news would seem to be further confirmation. According to reports, in addition to Cable, Deadpool 2 will also feature another X-Force member: frequent Deadpool buddy, Domino.

Deadpool made a ton of money this past weekend. At 84% on Rotten Tomatoes it’s been a success with critics too. It’s already influencing multiple future blockbusters. People love Deadpool. Apparently people love Deadpool so much they want him to host SNL. No, not Ryan Reynolds, he already hosted back in 2009 with musical guest Lady Gaga. Over 20,000 fans and counting want the character himself to host a full episode of SNL.

Deadpool flat killed it at the box office during it's opening weekend, setting records for February movie releases, R-rated opening weekends, etc. But even though the "Merc with a Mouth" is a Marvel Comics character, don't expect him to team up with Captain America or Iron Man anytime soon. If ever.

‘X-Force’ Movie Could be R-Rated Thanks to ‘Deadpool’ Success
Just a few days after Deadpool’s record-breaking haul at the box-office (the biggest opening for a film released in February, the biggest opening for an R-rated film, the biggest opening weekend in 20th Century Fox history and the biggest opening of any X-Men film), studios are already adapting to the massive success of an R-rated superhero film and adjusting accordingly. X-Men and Deadpool producer Simon Kinberg has said that while he doesn’t see the X-Men universe changing much after Deadpool’s success, he said he could definitely see another mutant-oriented superhero film getting an R-rating.

Over the past couple of decades, a narrative has built up around Deadpool's character evolution: He started out like any other mercenary, sword-carrying '90s badass, and it wasn't until the debut of his Joe Kelly-written and largely Ed McGuinness-drawn solo series in 1997 that the character came into his own. I'd argue that it's not quite that cut-and-dry. Go back and read Deadpool's early X-Force appearances and you'll discover he was still a wisecracker, though a bit more mean-spirited. Where Deadpool really seemed to come into his own, though, was almost a year into his solo series, in an issue that would long be hailed as the best single-issue Deadpool story: Deadpool #11, written by Kelly, with art by Pete Woods.

Fox has yet to officially green light the X-Force film, but if Deadpool does as well as early tracking suggests (promo screening buzz has been pretty positive from general audiences) and if Ryan Reynolds has his way, it won’t be long before we see the Merc With a Mouth team up with the X-Force for his own superhero team movie. Given Reynolds’ success in getting a proper Deadpool adaptation off the ground, this seems fairly likely.

If you’re one of the people who went to see an early promo screening of Deadpool, then you already know that the R-rated superhero outing has one post-credits scene. And if you were disappointed by said scene, then maybe this news will inspire you to run out and see the film again when it hits theaters next weekend (unless you didn’t particularly like it the first time around).
