Located in Hazelton, Indiana is a picturesque setting with thousands of azaleas. The Azalea Path Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are truly a gem in southern Indiana. When the azaleas are in full bloom this place is truly straight out of a fairytale. The Azalea Path is a nonprofit and privately owned, and it's the perfect place to take photos and visit to soak up some stunning nature views.
Started in 1979, Beverly Knight took an overgrown forest and magically created a gardener's piece of art.
Azalea Path Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a nonprofit and privately owned facility located on the Gibson/ Pike County border in Southwestern Indiana.
What began with 15 acres and only a few azaleas and perennials has flourished into more than 4,000 azaleas plus a large variety of unusual plants and native Indiana trees.
Azalea Path Arboretum and Botanical Gardens 2023 Season
Spring is SO close we can almost taste it! And if you want to make sure to get the most out of spring this year, a trip to the Azalea Path is a must! The Azalea Path Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will officially open for the 2023 season on April 1st and will be open daily until June 1st. After that window, the Azalea Path will be closed for the season.
When is the Best Time to Visit the Azalea Path
The best time to visit is during the blooming season which will start around April 1st, but according to the Gibson County Visitors and Tourism Bureau the best time to soak in the blooms will be late April to early May, but anytime that you can make it over to the Azalea Path Arboretum and Botanical Gardens you will see stunning views so there really isn't a bad time to go during their season!
