Robin Wright’s ‘Wonder Woman’ Character Antiope Will Be in ‘Justice League’
Justice League is set to be Warner Bros. biggest superhero team-up film yet, with metahumans we’ve met and a few we haven’t coming together to fight against injustice. Even those who aren’t traditionally members of the team are in for this fight, including a few of Wonder Woman’s Themysciran compatriots.
In a fantastic Q&A from the Los Angeles Times, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, and Gal Gadot discuss what it was like being Amazons, making friends with their costars, and exploring the family relationships between all the women. As it turns out, there’s still more of those relationships to be explored, which is how they let slip that Wright’s Amazon general Antiope will also be making an appearance in Justice League.
Gadot: Of course; the mother and daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship. I think that there’s a lot more to explore.
Nielsen: And [Wright and I] got to do more in “Justice League” as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can’t say much, but …
Wright: And more of the story, you get some of the history.
Be warned for Wonder Woman spoilers from this point on, so if you haven’t seen it, leave now! For those of you who have seen Wonder Woman, this news could sound a little confusing. Antiope’s part in Diana Prince’s story is cut much too short, so she’ll probably only appear in flashbacks in Justice League. But it’ll still be awesome to see the Amazons back together again, even if Diana is the only one in the team.
