After a difficult separation with Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora is reportedly being questioned about another difficult split -- one with ex-girlfriend Nikki Lund. According to the New York Daily News, police are speaking with Sambora over an alleged death threat he made to Lund.

According to reports, Sambora is accused of stating that he was going to "dig a hole in the desert and bury" Lund during a heated conversation on the phone last month. Sgt. Tui Wright of the Los Angeles County's Sheriff's Office told the New York Daily Newa that an investigation about the incident was underway after Lund filed a report on April 1.

"She stated that Mr. Sambora made some serious threats against her," Wright revealed. "Deputies tried to contact Mr. Sambora, but he was not at his residence. A report was taken, and now Malibu Lost Hills detectives are investigating."

The couple had an on-again, off-again relationship that lasted nearly a decade after Sambora split with ex-wife Heather Locklear. The pair became business partners in launching the Nikki Rich clothing line last year, but Sambora reportedly pulled out of the company last month and their planned boutique never came to be.

Sambora is scheduled to return to the road this June in Europe. Dates can be found here.
