Valentine's Day is quickly approaching! Yep, February 14th - same every single year! My guess is that the tried and true Texas Roadhouse and Red Lobster would be delicious but sitting and waiting for a table for a couple hours won't be romantic. So, here are some options here in Evansville that might not have as long of a wait (if any). The food is still delicious and your date will be thankful that you thought ahead... Phone numbers are listed below so call ahead just to be on the safe side!

Providing Evansville, and surrounding areas, with Authentic Korean Fine Dining and World class sushi - this place is so much fun. The atmosphere is quirky. The food is so good. And you can even get your steak searing on a hot stone. WAAA?

6580 Leonard Rd N Mount Vernon, Indiana
(812) 838-5339

It's a little bit of a drive from Evansville but well worth it. The menu features BBQ pulled pork, ribs, chicken and brisket, as well as a full selection of burgers, wraps and salads. Dess is casual. Reservations accepted.

Though I am a big fan of the traditional German fare, my husband is not. So, he always gets the catfish when we visit the Gerst Haus. The quaint and causal atmosphere would be perfect for the couple looking for a relaxing and fun V-Day.

With charm galore, the locally owned and operated eatery really gets your taste buds up and running with a range of ethnic spices! Dishes are mainly Middle Eastern cuisines, and your date will be beyond impressed with the spectacular wine list. Top your evening off with Penny's Lithuanian torte and a pot of  French Press coffee for two for an after dinner treat! Dress is casual but you won't be out of place if you take it up a notch.

I have been a fan of Tokyo ever since they were in old fast food burger joint on Diamond. The newer building on Green River is modern with Japanese traditional tones and the food is even better! Whether you choose sushi, hibachi or both, you won't be disappointed in the meal quality, size or price! Top off your meal with a shot of warm saki and don't forget the shrimp sauce - I buy it by the quart...

One of my favorite go-tos in Evansville, there's always something different to enjoy at Pangea. From authentic pizzas to Thai, it's all good and will make you feel like you left Evansville and stepped fresh off the boat into a faraway land. Even if you just stop in for the gelato, it's so worth it.

Royal India Cuisine

I've not eaten at this particular establishment but when I asked for recommendations in the Tri-State Restaurant Review group, my friend Emily said she really enjoyed it. In fact, she said it was "delicious." She said to get the buffet so you can try a little of everything.

Big Bang Mongolian Grill

2013 N Green River Rd, Evansville, IN 47715
(812) 602-1400
This was another suggestion from the Tri-State Restaurant Reviews group. I have eaten at Big Bang and I LOVE it. If you've not eaten there, you are missing out. You get a bowl - fill it with all the meats and veggies you want and then they cook it all in front of you on a hibachi grill. Easy, fast, delic. And if you don't like it... well that's your own dang fault!

Poke Pirate

315 E Diamond Ave, Evansville, IN 47711
(812) 303-2131
If you like hibachi without all the cooking, check out the Poke Pirate. Relatively new to the Evansville restaurant scene, you pick your meats, grains, and veggies and go enjoy them raw. YUMMM. Haven't tried but on the bucket list, for sure!

Prime Time Pub and Grill

8177 Bell Oaks Dr, Newburgh, IN 47630
(812) 490-0655
Fair warning, this one might have a wait because the food is really good. It's easy going. They usually have a DJ or live music. And just go ahead and get the BBQ Pork Sliders. You'll thank me later. Afterwards, you can easily catch a movie or go bowling at the FEC.

4001 E Eichel Ave, Evansville, IN 47715

They are coming up on Mardi Gras season and it will be packed but for now, you can probably get a table on Valentine's Day. With sandwiches, thin crust pizzas, soups, salads, and baskets there's something for everyone.

Ok. I'll admit it. I've never been to Commander's Grill tho everyone has told me how good it is. Another recommendation from The Tri-State Restaurant Review group, it's a sandwich shop with fried chicken, salads, steaks, and chops. Jessie said you can't go wrong with a tenderloin. Thumbs up to that.

Love the live music at the Deerhead and I'll just go ahead and take one of everything on the menu that includes bread and cheese! Yes please! Stanley suggested the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. That includes bread and cheese so it's on the list...
