According the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler has issued a recall for certain 2019-2020 Jeep Cherokee models. There is potential for the steering rack gear may break and possibly cause a loss of steering control resulting in risk of an accident. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin October 18, 2019. Consumers who own an affected vehicle may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Reference Chrysler recall V99. Those who own an impacted vehicle may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit Safercar.gov.
