Meet Princess Gemma

Gemma is an 11-year-old Cane Corso mix female. She is a solid 90 pounds, but there is no body shaming at ITV.
In her time with ITV, Gemma has come to rule the roost and our hearts. She is MUCH loved and is generally known as "Princess Gemma." Gemma is a celebrity here at ITV. She gets plush accommodations in her kennel with extra pillows and frequently lounges in the office or roams the front during off hours.

Tell Us About Gemma

What can we say about Gemma? Her best quality is that she loves, loves belly rubs. Gemma is a sun baby and adores rolling around in the grass while basking in the sun. Gemma has been known to chase a squirrel or two when she is outside. Gemma came to us as a transfer from a partner shelter. She had a litter of puppies and was scared of the world when we first took her in.

What are Gemma's Quirks?

Gemma has come a long way, but she still has some quirks from her previous life. Gemma would do best in a home where someone is generally home as she does not like being alone. She has extreme anxiety about noises (rain, fireworks, thunder, vehicles, etc) that manifests in destructive behavior. We have her on prescription anxiety meds, something she will need to continue in a home. We would also recommend a super tough kennel to help keep her safe. She would live her best life in a home where there are no cats. Gemma gets along with some dogs that have chill personalities like her. Gemma has been known to sometimes gets the zoomies, darting back and forth, but she is otherwise a pretty chill gal. We don’t recommend young kids because when excited, Gemma may be mouthy. She is also NOT house-trained. Gemma had a recent outing as part of our rent-a-dog program and she was actually smiling during the car ride, up out of her seat checking out all of her surroundings.

Will Gemma Ever Find the Perfect Home?

Gemma is our longest resident who has been with us since February 2018, but we still have high hopes that Gemma will find her perfect home. Her perfect home is someone who has patience and can give this senior gal unconditional love in a home, something Gemma has probably never known. Gemma's adoption fee is sponsored. Gemma can be visited at our Evansville rescue center during open hours or complete an adoption application at ITVrescue.org.

10 Bands from the 80s that Played Evansville's Mesker Music Amphitheater

It doesn't have to be a Throwback Thursday to talk about Mesker Music Amphitheatre, or if you grew up in Evansville, you can just refer to it as Mesker. Concert enthusiasts really had it made when Mesker hosted shows.
