Owensboro filmmaker PJ Starks has been producing horror movies locally for more than a decade. His latest venture, however, had to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

13 Slays Till X-Mas "would already be finished and in the middle of its festival run had COVID not happened," says Stark, who postponed the production until he and his crew felt it was safe enough get back to work.

PJ goes on to say, "We want everyone to feel free from danger and comfortable on set so we're adhering to the mask mandate as well as following all the necessary safety guidelines."

The concept--an anthology of thrilling Christmas stories--materialized four years ago and Starks knew that it would work since the budget would be very low. And then a host incredible talent signed onto the project--Katie Stewart (The Wicked One), Jason Crowe (Trespassing), Kevin Roach (The Bad Man), Ryan Matthew Ziegler (Butcher the Bakers), David McMahon (10/31 Part 2), Sonya Delormier (Wicked Ones), Joshua Mark Robinson (10/31), Julie Streble (One Must Fall), Wes Bartlett (Hallows Eve), Steve Christopher (Satanic Panic), Torri Yates-Orr (Tell Me A Story), Nathan Tymoshuk (Potpourri), Lauren Argo (Bagged & Bored), RJ Campbell (The Men Who Built America), Kaylee Williams (Mrs. Claus), Gerrimy Keiffer (VOB: Horror Stories), Michael Merchant (House Shark), Daiane Azzura (Nemesis 5: The New Model), Greg Harpold (Mindhunter) and many more.

13 Slays Till X-Mas is set on December 24th at a dive bar where five men have been invited via a mysterious email. The men, who appear to have been randomly chosen, begin telling scary stories, an old Christmas Eve tradition. As the night wears on and each man takes a turn, it becomes clear they may be harboring a dark secret.

PJ says that he and co-producer Eric Huskisson "couldn't be happier with how this thing is coming together."

He says, "The sequences look great, the narratives are well-paced, the performances are strong. If you love horror, anthologies, and Christmas, this is going to be something you need to check out."

Sounds like it checks all MY boxes. I'm looking forward to it.
