We know that our local nurses work hard and we want to celebrate them. That's why we partnered with Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union to salute our local nurses.

We asked you to tell us about the nurses in your life and your responses were phenomenal! We will be highlighting some of those entries here and on air and one lucky nurse will win an overnight stay at the French Lick Springs Resort.

Let's meet one of our nurses:

DeAnn Porter

DeAnn was nominated by her friend and fellow medical professional, Kim Newman. Deann works at Davita Eagles West in Evansville and according to Kim, DeAnn works tirelessly and is always thinking of others. Kim writes,

I have worked with my nurse for going on 5 yrs now and she never ceases to amaze me. I have worked with some great nurses in the 22 yrs that I've been in the medical field but DeAnn is absolutely at the top of my list of exceptional nurses. She is always there for myself and my teammates anytime we need anything. She is 100% there for our patients and always strives to do better. Our job requires us to be observant and alert at all times and she is just that. She will always do anything she can to help our patients have as easy of a dialysis treatment as possible. Our patients and staff love her. She always works tirelessly and never thinks twice about doing something for someone else. She is always thinking of others. DeAnn Porter deserves all the recognition in the world. She is not only an exceptional nurse but also a wonderful person. I am very proud to work side by side with her and even more proud to call her my friend.

DeAnn, thank you for all you do!

DeAnn is now in the running to win an overnight stay at the French Lick Springs Resort thanks to Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union. Today and every day we are grateful for the hardworking nurses in our community!

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
