NEWLIFE Rescue & Adoption’s Mission to Build a State-of-the-Art Animal Shelter
Last year I learned about the dire situation that PC Pound Puppies is in. My sweet Molly whom I adopted was lucky enough to be in a foster home with her puppies. But, sadly most of the dogs are housed in the kennels.
If you have ever visited a dog rescue shelter, you know all too well how full they stay, and it's no place for sweet pups to be. The location that PC Puppies uses is actually on private property. It's not a public building, and you have to make arrangements to meet the dogs. Volunteers walk the dogs twice a week, and that is the only time they aren't in the cramped space.
Kane is a 5-month-old mastiff mix puppy. Kennels are NO PLACE for a puppy to grow.
I also know first-hand how challenging it is to try to introduce your dog to one of the dogs in a kennel. They don't usually show their real personalities in that situation. This does not help them find forever homes.
PC Pound Puppies + Posey Humane Society = NEWLIFE Rescues & Adoption
Two familiar nonprofit animal shelters in Posey County have merged to form NEWLIFE Rescues & Adoption. The name may have changed, but the mission has not. Since the existence of these two organizations, thousands of animals have received spaying/neutering surgeries, been adopted to loving homes, and some even reunited with owners.
You will continue to see social media posts from PC Pound Puppies because switching followers is quite a process. And so is designing funding, and constructing the type of facility the animals need.
State-of-the-Art Animal Shelter
Plans are in place to build an amazing shelter that will give homeless animals a place to thrive and have a better chance of getting adopted. The top photo is the design from Hafer Design and the bottom two are the current shelters.
