Newburgh Wants Your Input to Help Fix Downtown Parking Challenges
The Town of Newburgh is looking to make some improvements, and they are asking for feedback from the community before they start.
Historic Downtown Newburgh Has a Lot to Offer
If you have ever visited downtown Newburgh, you know how beautiful and vibrant it is. There are a number of small, local businesses that call Newburgh home, from boutiques, antique shops, and salons to restaurants, coffee shops, and even ice cream.
Historic downtown Newburgh is a fantastic spot to visit to shop and eat, but it's also a great place to enjoy a walk or run along the Ohio River, or just take in the views from one of the many benches along the walking path.

Downtown Newburgh Is Beautiful—But Parking Can Be a Struggle
However, if you have visited, you also know that parking is a hot commodity for visitors to this Indiana community. It can be especially challenging to find a place to park during peak hours and during events.
The Town Is Launching a Comprehensive Parking Study
The Town of Newburgh is hosting a "comprehensive parking study." The hope is that through the study they can better evaluate the current parking conditions, while also identifying potential improvements to create a better experience for residents and visitors.
Why Your Feedback Matters to the Future of Newburgh
According to a press release from the town,
The parking study will assess on-street and off-street parking availability, usage patterns, signage, and accessibility throughout key areas of the Town of Newburgh, including the historic downtown district. The goal is to ensure that parking is safe, efficient, and supportive of Newburgh’s growth and charm.
Town Council President Stacie Krieger says local officials want to hear from the people who "live, work, and spend time in Newburgh." She says feedback from the public is important so they can determine what's working well with the current parking system, and where there is room for improvement.

Two Ways to Share Your Thoughts With Town Officials
The survey is very brief and can be completed quickly online. This is an opportunity to share your experiences and concerns, as well as any suggestions you may have. The survey can be found on the town’s official website.
There is also an in-person pop-up booth planned in downtown Newburgh on May 14th and 15th, giving residents the opportunity to learn more about the study, as well as speak directly with planning staff, ask questions, and provide input. Additional information is available on the town's Facebook page.
