Ever since I had my first wine slushie at The Sycamore Winery, in Terre Haute, IN, I have been obsessed. It’s the only way I can drink wine, in a pouch, or a giant cup, on ice. Now, it seems like I’m always trying to figure out new and different ways and recipes to make my own wine slushes. And, I think I’ve come ups with the best one yet.

While camping, over the weekend, my sister picked up some wine slushes for our camp fire enjoyment. The slushie she chose for me was a blueberry-lemonade wine slushie. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The combination of the sweet blueberry wine, mixed with the sour fruits were so delicious. I wish I would have taken more home to put in the freezer.

Today, while searching for Food News, I came across this new Crush soda flavor and a light bulb went off in my head. The flavor is Crush Berry, its blue and it tastes like Sour Patch Kids candy. I know, right?! Delish!

So, I though, why not mix that soda with some sweet blackberry pr blueberry wine and some ice? Yes. I’ve decided to call it the Blue Christmas Wine Slushie. You could even switch things up a little and exchange the wine for berry flavored vodka, rum or tequila. You would, of course have to change the name - Blue Christmas Vodka Slushie, Blue Christmas Rum Slushie, Blue Christmas Whiskey Slushie, etc. You get the picture.

I don’t know about YOU, but I’m dreaming of a Blue Christmas. Cheers.
