In our house this time of year is marked by an almost daily watching of horror movies as we get in the spirit of Halloween. We usually try to find new favorites by browsing through our streaming services and we stumbled across a real gem - the Netflix Original, Eli.

Eli is a young boy afflicted with a terrible illness that causes an allergic reaction-type response in his body when he is exposed to things like air, sunshine or grass. He has lived his life in a bubble until good ol' mom & dad sell off everything they own to scrape up enough money to take Eli to a 'specialist' that lives in the creepiest of creepy houses at the end of a secluded lane. There he is put through a series of 3 procedures that will supposedly cure what ails him. In the meantime, he's seeing ghosts of previous patients and has met a friend that he talks to through the glass of the conservatory. Now, I know this doesn't sound all that scary, but please trust me when I tell you that what is scariest about this film is what you never see coming (and what I won't spoil by giving any more details!) I will tell you that the movie had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

Netflix really hit the coffin nail on the head with this Halloween season release and I would give it 10 out of 10 skulls - I'd watch it again.
