In honor of National Native American Heritage Month, Angel Mounds State Historic Site will feature six of the nation's top Native American artists at the 6th Annual Native American Fine Arts Market this weekend, November 14-16 at the historic site. Area residents will once again have a rare opportunity to personally interact with first-class artists usually reserved for the nation's biggest art shows.

The select group of artists, from Arizona, Kansas, Indiana and Tennessee, includes Abraham Begay, Navajo (Master Silversmith); Daniel Bigay, Cherokee (gourd, shell, copper and flute artist), Mitch Battese, Prairie Band of the Potawatomi (painter); Katrina Mitten, Miami (beadwork artist); Nelson Garcia, Santo Domingo Pueblo (jeweler and silversmith) and Kimberly Green-Bugg, Oneida Six Nations (doll maker). Each artist is a distinguished member of America's Indian art community and a master of his/her respective medium.

An opening night reception, free and open to the public, is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14 at 7pm. Light refreshments will be served - guests must call (812)853-3956 to make reservations. Saturday and Sunday activities are from 10am - 5pm and are included with admission.

Angel Mounds State Historic Site is located at 8215 Pollack Ave. in Evansville, Ind.
