My Interview with Michael Barrentine from Soldier Dogs for Independence [Audio]
The Insane Inflatable 5K is coming up later this month, and it is going to be HUGE! And that's awesome news for our non-profit beneficiary, Soldier Dogs for Independence. Michael Barrentine, president of Soldier Dogs, came by to tell me more about this awesome organization.
Unless you have served our country or are a family member or really close friend of someone who has, I don't think you (or I) really know how that service can affect their lives. I have an immense amount of respect for anyone that would willingly volunteer to put their life at risk for our country. I admit freely that I am way too cowardly to do such a thing. I appreciate them even more when I hear stories about how their lives are affected by their service. And I think it's important to remember that it's not always so easy to just go back to their normal life once they return home. I am so glad their is an organization like Soldier Dogs for Independence.
Michael Barrentine is a veteran himself and is also the owner of a "Soldier Dog" named Porkchop. Michael deals with veterans every day and see how their lives have been forever changed. He knows first-hand how these amazing dogs can change lives.
Listen to our interview below and you'll hear for yourself how important Soldier Dogs for Independence is and why you should help in any way you can.
The Insane Inflatable is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th at the Vanderburgh County 4-H fairgrounds. Get more info and get registered here.
