I had a friend named Frances Wolf. I’d like to tell you a bit about her. This dear, 79 year old woman lived downtown and operated a shop called “Grandma’s Attic” on Main Street next to the House Of Lechter. When my own grandmother dies in 1999 she left me her house and all the contents therein. I decided to sell the house and many of the things inside which include a lot of antique furniture, plates and other of my grannie’s possessions. Someone suggested that the woman who owned “Grandma’s Attic” was into buying the type of things I was looking to sell. I contacted Frances Wolf and our friendship began. She bought most of my grandmother’s belongings, which made me happy. I made money and the stuff went to someone who would appreciate it. Time went by and I hadn’t stopped in Frances shop to see her in a long while. Then one day I saw on the news that she had been killed. Not just killed but savagely murdered. It made me sad, but moreso angry. What kind of piece of Sh*t would do this to a sweet old lady like Frances. Apparetly, or allegedly Pharoah Newton is that kind of piece of Sh*t!

Pharoah Newton, 18, is accused of beating and stabbing 79-year-old Frances Wolf, at her 1321 SE First St. home sometime between 11 p.m. Oct. 1 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 2. If convicted, he could be sentenced to between 45 and 65 years in prison. So, the trial is on having already been postponed twice, is expected to last all week.

In opening statements Tuesday, the prosecutor told jurors that Wolf had been beaten, stabbed repeatedly and her throat slit several times. Despite those wounds, it was head injuries from being struck with a blunt object, likely inflicted after the stabs and cuts, that killed her. I have never hoped for someone to be found guilty as I have Pharoah Newton. Let justice be served in the harshest manner possible.
