Party In the Pit

In addition to viewing all of the heartstopping action from your seat, you can party beforehand in the pit! The Monster Jam Pit Party, taking place both Saturday and Sunday, will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with the massive trucks and you can meet your favorite drivers and crews too. This is a great opportunity to snap some pictures and get an insider look at these trucks.

A New Beast Has Entered the Pit

In addition to the trucks and teams you know and love, a new beast has entered the pit. According to Monster Jam,

Two Monster Jam technicians have gone rogue and opened a secret facility specifically to create a new mechanical beast to challenge for Monster Jam supremacy.
Hard at work on their creation, these mad technicians had no idea a cosmic red storm was about to strike Earth and their lab. This thunderous event transformed their creation into the newest apex predator – ThunderROARus.

Monster Jam is taking place in downtown Evansville at Ford Center on the following days and times:

Saturday, April 29, 2023:
1:00pm & 7:00pm
Pit Party 10:30am – 12:00pm (If you plan to attend the pit party, you do have to have a 1pm event ticket and also purchase a Pit Pass as well)
Sunday, April 30, 2023:
2:00pm
Pit Party* 11:30am – 1:00pm (If you plan to attend the pit party, you do have to have a 1pm event ticket and also purchase a Pit Pass as well)

See How Downtown Evansville Has Changed Over the Years

I find looking back on the way things used to be fascinating. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I'm living through the current time period. The conveniences of answering any question we have in seconds, or ordering practically anything we want or need and having it delivered to our doorstep is pretty sweet. But, there is something fun about seeing how things around us have evolved. As an Evansville native, and spending quite a bit of my time in downtown Evansville (that's where the station is located), I've always appreciated the older architecture of the buildings around the area. So, I dug into the Willard Library Archives to see how a few of those areas look now compared to then. Some have changed a little, others quite a bit, and a few don't even exist any more. Take a look.
