Lane Goodwin – Thumbs Up For Lane – Passes Away This Evening

Lane Goodwin - the McLean County, Kentucky, boy who bravely fought a long battle against a rare childhood form of cancer has sadly lost his battle with cancer at 7:53 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

The Beech Grove, Kentucky, 13-year-old was diagnosed in 2010 with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma Stage IV - a rare and very aggressive form of childhood cancer. Lane was able to fight the disease repeatedly but relapsed again in May of 2012.

His battle with cancer united everyone - from strangers to superstars - to give Lane a "thumbs up." A Facebook page named Prayers for Lane Goodwin was established in his honor, to share those "thumbs up" and to give 317,947+ fans a place to pray for this wonderful boy and lend support to his family and friends.

Lane is survived by his parents and his brother. Funeral arrangements have not yet been set.

We join everyone in expressing our sympathy for Lane's passing. This amazing little boy touched lives he never knew about. His short life is a testament to the compassion and caring that is in us all.
