Congratulations are due to Lamb of God. The band just scored their second RIAA-certified Gold album in the United States with Sacrament, the outfit's 2006 fifth album (but fourth under their current name).

In fact, the album was just certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on Sunday (Sept. 27), according to the trade organization's website. It's the second Gold album for Lamb of God following Ashes of the Wake, the band's 2004 effort that achieved RIAA Gold status in February 2016. The group celebrated Ashes of the Wake's 15th anniversary by releasing a rare B-side earlier this year. The song, "Another Nail for Your Coffin," accompanied a special re-release of the album.

In the U.S, Gold certification is awarded by the RIAA for records that have sold 500,000 units. Since 2016, each album unit may be counted as a physical or digital album sold or shipped, 10 tracks from the album downloaded or 1,500 on-demand audio or video streams of songs from the album.

But Sacrament and Ashes of the Wake aren't the only RIAA certifications Lamb of God have notched on their belts. In the lesser reported category of long form video, the outfit were awarded Platinum certification for their video albums Killadelphia (2005) and Walk With Me in Hell (2008) in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Each video had previously reached Gold in the year of its individual release.

Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe has previously discussed the band's album sales. Several years ago, he thanked fans for helping the act's 2012 effort Resolution move 52,000 copies in its first week of release.
