Here at WBKR, we are getting very excited for the 25th Anniversary season of Friday After 5 in downtown Owensboro.  It will also be our 4th year as the official media sponsor for the event.  Over the next couple of weeks, we're going to be sharing various pieces of exciting news about this years schedule.  It gets started this morning.

We're excited to announce that the Traveling Kentucky Vietnam Wall is coming to Friday After 5.  In fact, it will be in town for a few days beginning on Friday, July 2nd.  The Wall will be on display on the front lawn of the Owensboro Convention Center for a very special and patriotic Friday After 5.  In addition to the Kentucky Vietnam Wall, the schedule for July 2nd is action-packed.

The live music lineup for July 2nd is incredible.  Plus, Friday After 5 is adding in the power of the Traveling Kentucky Vietnam Wall.  The wall contains the names of 1,105 Kentuckians who were killed in action, were held Prisoners of War and those still officially listed as Missing in Action "on the soil of South Vietnam, North Vietnam seaways and the Theater of Operation."  The project aims to provide all Kentuckians an "opportunity to pay homage to those who gave their all."

This morning, Friday After 5 Executive Director Francine Marseille joined me to talk about the special tribute.
