LA Tattoo Artist Kat Von D + Her Family Making Permanent Move to Indiana
It has been nearly a year since we first learned that Los Angeles tattoo artist and cosmetics maven, Kat Von D was potentially moving to Indiana.
Back on December 17, 2020, Kat Von D shared a photo on her Instagram showing her standing in front of the Schenk Mansion in Vevay Indiana. She was holding a "sold" sign. The caption read, "It's official! Vevay, Indiana here we come!"
The following month, in January 2021, the artist shared that she was looking for skilled tradesmen to work on the restoration of the Vevay property. For those not in the know, the Schenk Mansion is reportedly very haunted and has previously been a bed & breakfast (keep scrolling to see some photos of the Schenk Mansion).
In a new post to social media, Kat Von D says that the move to Indiana will be
permanent and that she plans to close her Los Angeles tattoo shop, High Voltage Tattoo.
After much thought, we have decided we will permanently be moving to Indiana at the end of this year. We plan on selling our beautiful home here, and I will most likely open a private studio in Indiana once we are done with the house remodel there.
This means that, sadly, I will be closing my beloved tattoo shop High Voltage Tattoo here in West Hollywood on Dec 1. I didn’t think it would make sense to keep it open if I wasn’t present, and aside from coming back to work on music with my band, we don’t plan on returning to LA very often.
We hope Kat Von D and her family enjoy the Hoosier State and wish them well on their transition from the hustle and bustle of LA life to a life in Indiana.
