Kat Von D's Big Announcement

Kat Von D is a tattoo artist who had her own show on TLC, LA Ink. Since the show, Kat began her massively successful cosmetics company, Kat Von D Beauty, which she has since sold it is now KVD Vegan Beauty. She also now has her own line of vegan shoes and a musical career.

On December 17th, 2020 Kat posted a photo to her Instagram (@TheKatVonD) of her posing in front of what looks to be the Schenk Mansion in Vevay Indiana.   In the photo, Kat is holding a "SOLD" sign.  The caption says "It's official! Vevay, Indiana here we come!"

Kat Von D Becomes an Official Hoosier

Since her post on Instagram more than 2 years ago, Kat has made a few posts about the home in Indiana but has mainly remained in Los Angeles.  Well, it looks like she and her family can officially call themselves Hoosiers because as of April 7th, 2023, they're officially making the move to Indiana.

Kat Von D Says Goodbye to LA

On Kat's Instagram stories, she posted many videos of her farewell dinner with some of her closest friends in LA.  On April 6th, 2023 Kat Von D shared a video to her Instagram feed with the caption:

ast day of mixing my album before we move to Indiana tomorrow! Always so bittersweet coming to an end of a project - working with this amazing team has been like working with family, and I’m gonna miss not seeing them for hours on end every day!

BUT! This means that it’s only a matter of time before I am finally able to share this album with all of you! SO GET READY!

Hey @fernandogaribay, @miro.official and @robrettberg ! I can’t begin to tell you how much I love you guys for pushing this album across the finish line with me!

I’ll be making an official shoutout to the entire talented village that came together on this one once the albums out!

So it looks like Kat Von D and her family are officially residents of the Hoosier state.

A New Tattoo Shop?

All of this has many wondering, do you think Kat Von D could be planning to open a tattoo shop in the Hoosier state?  Well maybe! In a post on November 13th, 2020 Kat posted a photo in Vevay, Indiana with the caption "I wonder if Vevay, Indiana would mind if I opened a little tattoo shop up here..." So could she have some exciting things up her sleeve for the Hoosier state?  It sounds like it's a definite possibility!

The Schenk Mansion

Kat Von D purchased Indiana's historic Schenk Mansion, if you want to learn a bit about the mansion's haunted history, check that out here.  The Schenk Mansion has quite an interesting history and most recently served as a bed and breakfast.  Now the mansion is the new home of Kat Von D and her family.  You can check out photos of the historic Schenk Mansion, below.
