This Indiana City Is Among the Worst Places in America to Retire

The personal finance website WalletHub recently published a study of the Best & Worst Places (Cities) to Retire in 2024. The study compared the retiree-friendliness of more than 180 U.S. cities across 45 key metrics, including the cost of living and tax laws to the availability of activities and the quality of health care.
Sorry Hoosiers, Your Capital City Is Near the Bottom of the List
Out of 182 cities, Indianapolis was ranked 149th. I never really thought of Naptown as a retirement hot spot, but I also didn't expect it to be so far down on the list. Keep in mind, that the rankings are based purely on data, so let's see Indy's score in the categories mentioned above.

- Quality of Life Ranking - 174th
- Health Care Ranking - 75th
What Are America's BEST Retirement Cities?
Would you be surprised (you shouldn't be) if I told you that four of the top five cities on this list are in Florida? Orlando (#1), Miami (#2), Tampa (#4), and Fort Lauderdale (#5). I guess retiring to Florida is a stereotype for a reason.
