Everything You Need to Know About Market on Main 2025 in Downtown Evansville
Market on Main is not only a great way to support local farmers, food trucks, and makers. It is also a very important service to residents in a food desert neighborhood.
What is a Food Desert?
A Food Desert is an area where it's difficult to buy affordable or good-quality fresh food. Did you know that 40% of our neighborhoods right here in Evansville, Indiana, are in food deserts, meaning they do not have access to fresh foods like produce and meats. That is a statistic that community leaders and nonprofit organizations have been trying to remedy for years.
Local Farmers to the Rescue!
If you don't have a car or transportation to drive to a grocery store or local farm, it's not very easy to get fresh fruit and veggies. But, every Wednesday through September 17, 2025, the Market on Main brings fresh food to the Downtown Evansville area.
Where is the Market on Main?
The Ford Center Plaza is located on Main Street, between MLK Jr. Boulevard and 6th Street, in the heart of Downtown Evansville. You can't miss the booths set up; Note that from 6th to Main is closed for the event.

Order Local Produce Online
Another way that local farmers and Urban Seeds are helping to meet the needs of Evansville residents living in food desert areas is with online ordering. They are working with Nourish to offer produce bundles.
Here's How it Works:
- Shop our bundle options and add them to your cart.
- Sign in or create an account as a new customer.
- Choose one of our pickup locations and complete your order.
Order by Monday at midnight for pick up on Thursday in Evansville at Trinity United Methodist Church or the Tepe Park Clubhouse.
The Nourish program happily accepts SNAP payments. Please select SNAP/EBT at checkout and bring your card to process payment at your pick-up location. Please contact our Nourish Coordinator, Tom Zeta, at 812-213-7225 for questions or assistance.[/pullquotes]
