This Small Indiana Town is Where You’ll Find the State’s Most Beautiful Restaurant
I love getting the opportunity to brag about the "best" things Indiana has to offer - like restaurants, bars, employers, museums, etc. More times than not, those "bests" are located in the state's capital of Indianapolis, which makes sense. I get even more excited when I get to brag on some of the Hoosier state's smaller cities.

LoveFood.com recently shared a list of the most beautiful restaurants in each state. For Indiana, I fully expected to see them name an Indianapolis restaurant. Imagine my surprise when, instead, I saw Greenfield listed as the home of the state's most beautiful restaurant.
As of 2023, Greenfield, Indiana, has an estimated population of 25,920, making it the 39th most populous city in the state. Greenfield is just east of Indianapolis and is where you will find Carnegie’s A Place To Eat, which, according to LoveFood.com, is the most beautiful restaurant in Indiana. Here's what the website says about its choice...
Set in the basement of Greenfield’s historic library, the candlelit Carnegie boasts original carved wooden features with classic artwork on the walls. It’s the actual building that stands out as beautiful, though, with a grand entrance flanked by pillars, huge statement windows, and original stonework. The restaurant also has a patio area and serves a menu of steaks, seafood, and dishes with a Northern Italian flair.

It’s always a treat to see the spotlight shine beyond the big cities and onto Indiana’s hidden gems. Carnegie’s A Place To Eat is proof that beauty, charm, and culinary excellence can thrive in even the most unexpected places. So the next time you're in Central Indiana, consider making a trip to Greenfield, and to Carnegie's. Or perhaps you could visit a different small town where you might just discover your own hidden gem.
