Evansville 8th Graders Can Discover Student Pathways at the 2025 EVSC Options Fair
Evansville Offers More Than Just Traditional High Schools
When it comes to high school, most families in Evansville are familiar with the big names - Bosse, Central, Harrison, North, and Reitz. These schools are fantastic in their own right, but did you know the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) offers even more pathways for students? If you’ve got an 8th grader in your household, you won’t want to miss the 2025 EVSC Options Fair, where you can explore all kinds of unique learning opportunities.

So, what exactly does “options” mean? In this case, it means innovative programs designed to give students hands-on experiences and specialized training in areas that truly excite them. These aren’t your traditional high school classes – they’re models that open doors to future careers and skills. From science and medicine to law, leadership, and even virtual learning, the EVSC has something for just about every interest.
Standout Programs for Every EVSC Student
Some of the standout programs include the Academy of Future Educators, the Academy of Science & Medicine (based at Central), New Tech Institute High School, the Shepard Leadership & Law Academy (at Harrison), and the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center. Students can also explore Early College High School, JROTC, the EVSC Virtual Academy, and more. Many of these are half-day programs, which means kids still get to spend time at their home school – keeping up with friends, sports, and extracurriculars – while also diving deep into their chosen field.

Join the 2025 EVSC Options Fair
The 2025 EVSC Options Fair takes place Thursday, October 23, from 5 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center (SICTC) on Lynch Road. Families can chat with teachers and current students at informational booths, then sit in on short, engaging presentations from each program.
