Maybe Mother Nature felt neglected or underappreciated. I don't know who or what rubbed her the wrong way, but she definitely unleashed her wrath on us - bringing a memorable (for all the wrong reasons) start to 2025.

The snow, ice, and freezing rain delivered by Winter Storm Blair resulted in broken trees and branches all over the region. If you have trees on your property, you almost certainly have ice-covered branches lying in your yard. Have you decided what to do with them once the weather calms down? The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County are teaming up to provide a convenient tree debris drop-off site starting Friday, January 17!

Gather up your storm-damaged trees, limbs, and woody shrubs - just make sure to leave behind any leaves, grass clippings, or regular yard waste. Trash isn't part of the mix, either. Make sure you bring along proof of residency, like your driver's license - keep in mind that this service is strictly for residents, so commercial establishments will need to look elsewhere.

Drop-Off Schedule:

  • Friday, January 17: 9 AM - 4 PM
  • Saturday, January 18: 9 AM - 1 PM
  • Wednesday, January 22: 9 AM - 4 PM
  • Thursday, January 23: 9 AM - 4 PM
  • Friday, January 24: 9 AM - 4 PM
  • Saturday, January 25: 9 AM - 1 PM
  • Friday, January 31: 9 AM - 4 PM
  • Saturday, February 1: 9 AM - 1 PM

Here’s an extra bonus: all that wood and debris will be transformed into firewood and mulch, which will be made available to the public later on. It’s a win-win for everyone—and your garden might even thank you later!
