It's not a jewelry store, not a bakery, and not a car wash. So what is moving into the corner lot at Vogel Road and Burkhardt Road on Evansville's East side?

Last January, LKASAM Investments, LLC filed a rezoning request with the Evansville City Council to build a Take 5 Car Wash on the lot currently occupied by the former Diamond Galleria jewelry store. Those plans were turned down and now the property is getting another makeover.

Same Corner, Through the Years

Thanks to our amazing tool Google Maps, I discovered that this corner of North Burkhardt and East Vogel in Evansville has had quite a history.

In the first photo dated August 2007, 6245 Vogel Rd, Evansville, IN 47715, was an Old National Bank. Now, there is a newer location in the same area, but across the street.

Here we have the second photo from Google Maps showing a brand-new building. The Grand Traverse Pie Company is a franchise with locations in Michigan and Indiana. The location closed because the owners retired.
