CenterPoint Energy Launches New and Improved Outage Tracker for Southern Indiana
We all know how frustrating it can be when the power goes out, especially during the crazy storms we sometimes get. You're left wondering what's going on and when things will be back to normal. Well, this new tool from CenterPoint looks like it's designed to give us a lot more info during power outages and make the whole experience a little less stressful.
Staying Connected to CenterPoint Energy During Power Outages
CenterPoint Energy has had a site to keep track of outages and see the approximate times that power could be restored. But this new version isn't just a basic outage map. It's got some really neat upgrades. For starters, it's built to handle more people using it at once, which is a huge plus during those big outages when everyone's trying to check for updates. It also works super smoothly on your phone or tablet, so you can easily check it no matter where you are. The old version was not as user-friendly.
Weather Updates and More
You can actually see weather patterns on the map, which can give you a better idea of why the power might be out in the first place. Plus, there's this pretty cool satellite view that shows how many trees and stuff are around, which sometimes play a role in outages. It certainly does in my neighborhood. And the whole page can switch over to Spanish, which is fantastic for making sure everyone has access to the information they need.
See a downed power line? Stay at least 35 feet away and call 800-227-1376.
CenterPoint also offers a Power Alert Service, where you can get updates by text or email.
